Fall and Holiday Workshops 2019
As the Summer winds down, and students return to school, shorter days and longer nights are not far off. Which means getting creative for many of us. This year we have polished off some of our favorite themes and are offering new workshops, and mini-makes for the fall and holiday season.
So far we have scheduled 4 workshops that we are very excited about and think that you will be too. For those of you not near or able to attend we (will) have kits available. And if you would like to simply purchase any of these items, you can!!
Birch Bark Hollow Ornament Workshop
First up is this stunning, large ornament or wall hanging made from hollowed out Birch log rings.
This workshop is offered 2 times on the same day.
Saturday, September 14, 10:00 - 11:00 or 1:00 - 2:00 and it is only $20!!
Choose the majestic owl, or the winter birds. We will have lots of decorating bits for you to choose from, in addition to glass glitter, pheasant feathers, and Dresden die cuts. We have a limited number of these birch rings available. If there are any left, we may offer a kit.
Fall Pumpkin Pincushion Workshop
My pumpkin pincushion kit has been transformed into a workshop, with a nice autumn feel and I have added wool leaves to the design.
This workshop is Saturday, September 28, 2019 10:00 - 2:00 and costs $38 for everything. We will cover soft sculpting and needle felting in a different kind of way. The fabric is vintage cotton double-knit and it uses local wool and walnut shells for stuffing. Don't overlook the adorable spun cotton mushrooms from Germany, topping it off.
Winter Teacup Diorama Workshop
A wonderful way to display a favorite teacup, sugar or creamer, anything pretty with a 3" opening will do. This workshop includes everything but the vessel, which we will also have available for a mere $5-6
We love English porcelain, including this Calyx blue set.
So sweet, a Swedish doll in a little spice jar.
Or a gold glittered deer in a silver creamer.
This workshop is Saturday, October 12, 10:00-12:00 and is only $30
I'll show you how to transform a small vessel into a platform for building a wintry scene upon. You will cover a deer with glass glitter, and securely fasten and arrange bottle brush trees and spun cotton mushrooms to create a very pretty and festive standing decoration that you can display all winter long.
Vintage Chenille Wreath Workshop
For the grand finale, we will make this stunning wintry holiday wreath that I taught last year at Anna Griffin's Create 4 event in Atlanta. I have changed this wreath up a bit and am offering it in different color French velvet bows.
This design is based on the vintage wreaths I have made in the past, using faded red chenille wreaths from the 1940's. The white chenille used in this new wreath is made for me from Italian fisherman's chenille. It is so yummy, with a bit of sparkle. What makes this so pretty is the amazing wide velvet ribbon from France, vintage millinery trims, sparkly winter sprays, Anna Griffin Angels, Dresden die cut swallows and halos, and glass balls. The adorable glittered putz house actually lights up.
I will show you step by step how to achieve amazing results using these wonderful materials to make an heirloom holiday wreath.
This workshop is Saturday, November 2, 2019 10:00-1:00 and is $75.
I am looking forward to teaching these classes with the help from my trusty and talented assistant Laura Kennedy, this fall and winter. We are already seeing these classes starting to fill up.
We will also be adding some fun and simple $10 Mini-Make classes that we will offer several times during the season. Due to the popularity of our Mini-Makes you will need to sign up ahead of time, just to be sure.
