After so many years of wanting to add the quintessential fabric to our shop, we made it a reality. In case you are not familiar with this very special fabric and it's prints, let me give you some highlights. First of all the threads and weave of it is so fine, it's super fine, giving it a silky soft thin feel and appearance, almost as fine as Voile, but that's a little different. This fabric is wider than standard cotton fabrics found in the US at about 53".
Use this fabric as you would use a nice silk. Lighter than regular cottons, it makes up into the yummiest blouses and dresses. It's is fine for quilts, a dream to work with, but I would reserve this Tana Lawn for very special home decor items.
We have already carried a smattering of this fabric for years, but now we have 20 bolts that just arrived from Milan, where it is manufactured for the London based company, totaling 25 different prints.
Many of the prints used for Liberty fabrics were inspired by the famed William Morris archives, as well as other classic and modern artists.
